Is it time yet?
We get hands shook at the front door and promises that if we elect a specific person that it will be a better tomorrow, the funny thing is no matter who we vote for and who is elected…tomorrow…looks a lot like today and yesterday…and often its not even as good! For all the glad handing the guy that wears the Orange looks like the one that was wearing the red a few years ago and the blue guy is still screaming about his being the better choice, but something inside me says he is probably the same as the other two guys.
About the only thing for certain is the guy that is not one of the Political primary colors in Canada..the guy that ran under the “Other color”…well he is different…..and while I know he would not do any good for my family in parliament/city hall/ Legislature…well I am tempted to vote for him to simply entertain me a bit more while I cry about how silly they all are and how much of my family money they are spending.
Not only do we get the fun of watching them dealing with this out of left field (not a political reference I swear) but we also get to see them realize that the province is not going to take much more of their crapola and keep voting them in and giving them jobs…essentially we are their bosses, even if they don’t see it that way and a review is in order…an election is in order!
I think its about time we have a quick vote to see if we are happy with our city council, Mayor, MLA’s and MP’s and how we are being treated as the people who employ you. See I am sick of our taxes being misused, laws being written over to make it easier for people to simply do what they please as leaders and forgetting that they are all civil servants.
I realize you cannot make everyone happy and I am ready to be upset and a bit disappointed in a city council member, MP or MLA and even a Mayor…but to be unhappy across the board all the time…well its time to do a bit of a shuffle and see how the other colors will do in our city. And I think its time to send a message to the political structure that they work for US not the other way around. We don’t get to sit back in their well-paid jobs and watch us bust our humps making money…take it and call it a tax, break laws to make the job easier and then treat us like we don’t count.
I have a plan. The next election I am finding out who the incumbent is in my area for City, Provincial and then Federal and I am voting against them. I pretty much do not care who the other guy is that is getting my vote…but it aint going to be the guy in power right now. My mission is to find out at each level who is running and essentially run against them by finding out who else is running. I know what the guy that was voted in can do for me..and what they refuse to do for me and my family…now its time to listen to the other guy and give them a chance.
So, my question…is it time yet. Can we call a vote soon so we can effect change and get some young blood into the seats of power to steer this ship away from the ice burgs and get us moving in a different direction!
Or is it time for those in power to realize….we get the final say….we get to speak about what their legacy is and how long they have to build one!
